They are birdlike in appearance, with long tendrils on the top of their heads and the tips of their wings. These tendrils grow continuously throughout a phoenix's life, so they are a good indication of age. They typically have a high level of magic. They are able to regenerate their bodies, rebirthing themselves from the ashes of their previous body. There are two main variety of phoenix, fire and ice. The two are able to have offspring naturally, but the resulting children usually have little or no magic.
