He is Nix's partner and second-in-command, and he fought by her side during the Siege of Lyndoreth.

Appearance

Apophis has broad shoulders and a thick neck. His hind legs are thin and his hips are bony. He has a long sharp beak. His fur is brown with faint stripe markings and lighter speckles. His underbelly and paws are lighter orange-brown. His beak and talons are dark gray, and his eyes are green.

Personality

Apophis is strong and stoic, seeing any sort of emotional display as a sign of weakness. He is intensely loyal to Thelaji and to Nix, and would gladly lay down his life to protect the kingdom. He has little patience for creatures below his status, and does not suffer fools gladly.

History

Apophis hatched from his egg on the first day of y892, in the kingdom of Liwon. He had one older brother, Basille, but from the moment Apophis was able to walk and talk, he asserted himself as the one in charge between the two. He grew quickly, stealing his brother's share of food as often as he could, resulting in him becoming physically strong while Basille remained scrawny and weak.

In y893, when Apophis was almost two years old, Liwon was attacked by the army of Thelaji, the kingdom on the western border. Liwon's king was killed, and the rest of the kingdom surrendered to avoid any further conflict. The land that made up Liwon was assimilated into Thelaji.

Despite his homeland having been taken over by Thelaji, Apophis felt nothing but admiration for its army and soldiers. He saw their killing of Liwon's king as a show of pure strength, especially as it was done in an act of vengeance. Apophis grew up considering himself a proud resident of Thelaji. In y901, when he was nine years old, he traveled to the royal palace in search of a place in their army. Despite his youth, the leader of the soldiers saw potential in him, and he was allowed to join Thelaji's forces in furthering the Thelaji Conquest.

In y907, he met Nix, the young daughter of King Aubin and Queen Kaithe.

Relationships

Parhelia

Despite being Parhelia's father, Apophis feels no real love towards her. She was born sorely because Nix wanted an heir.
