Iska
Template:Ankou CharacterIska is a mountain dragon, living in a small tribe in the territory of Petraga during the Age of Harmony. She is the daughter of Nevith and Akor, and the sister to Ladon, Marduk, Eos, and Zu.
Appearance
Iska has broad shoulders, a short tail, and long, slender legs. She has deep crimson scales, with a slightly lighter underbelly and brow ridge, with blue-violet wing membranes, spinal spikes, horns, inner ears, eyes, and shoulder markings. Her horns are angled at the ends and come to a skinny, pointed tip.
Personality
Though shy as a hatchling, Iska grew into a snarky and sardonic adult. She considers herself the eldest of the siblings, as she and the rest of her family disregard Ladon's existence, and therefore automatically assumes herself to be in charge of them; she strives to be at the top of the tribe's social hierarchy as a whole, and has a strong desire for control. She can be cruel to those that she feels deserves it, and shares her brother Marduk's bullying tendencies, though she is far more likely to insult from a distance than physically attack outright. She is deeply loyal to her siblings, and to her tribe as a whole, and wants them all to be as strong as possible, as she feels a mountain dragon should be.
History
Iska hatched on Spring 12, y2263, eight days after her premature brother Ladon. Her other three siblings hatched shortly after she did. She was the second-largest of the clutch, only outsized by Marduk. She was skittish as a hatchling, though her confidence increased as she grew.
Relationships
Out of all her siblings, Marduk is the one she is closest to. They share a desire for strength, and think little of those who do not meet their standards. Her sharp tongue and his brute strength make for a formidable pair.
Despite her sharp tongue and snarky attitude causing many conflicts during her adolescence, Iska does deeply respect and revere her mother, seeing her as a representation of what a properly strong mountain dragon should be. Even into adulthood, she often found herself looking towards her mother to help guide her own actions. After Nevith sustained the injury that disabled her, Iska found she lost much of that reverence, and did her best to avoid seeing what her mother had become.
Iska has similar views on her father that Marduk does; namely, they see him as weak, and do not understand why their mother chose him. Iska does not go out of her way to spend time with him.
Once the initial curiosity at his abnormalities had worn off, Iska was frequently hostile to Ladon as a hatchling. She wanted him to feel as though he did not belong in the tribe, and especially not in her family, and was often frustrated when Ladon did not seem to have any reaction to her insults. She thought little of him as they grew up, and she was pleased when he left the tribe, allowing her to put him out of her mind entirely.
