Fire Dragons are a subspecies of dragon. They are the largest dragon species and typically have lifespans of around a thousand years. Their colors depend on how strong their fire is; the most powerful fire dragons are bright red and orange, while older or less powerful dragons will have dustier colored scales. Rarely, a fire dragon can be born with no fire at all, in which case their scales are pure black. Fire dragons typically only produce one egg at a time, and have a gestation period of several years. They reproduce via parthenogenesis, regardless of gender, so no mate is necessary for offspring to be produced. They are a solitary species, and have a tendency to live in more remote areas.
