The First
The First are a group of magical creatures who were created by the Gryphon Mother at the beginning of Year Zero. As the name suggests, each individual is the first one created of their specific species. Unlike the rest of their species, however, the First have solid white coloration, including their eyes. Many creatures, especially during the earlier years of Ankou's history, consider them to be like minor deities, particularly within specific species themselves. Despite this, the First have the minds and abilities of any other creature of their species. Any offspring they may have will have regular coloration; there is nothing special about the First that is passed down genetically.
Some species find it a point of pride for one to be descended from the First, as a symbol of their heritage. This sentiment faded during the latter half of Ankouvian history, when mixed species became more common and bloodlines became harder to track.
