Creatures in the mixed-species category include any individuals who cannot be defined by a single species. In the early years of Ankou’s history, these were limited to those with parentage of slightly different species that were still able to naturally produce offspring; as time went on, creatures began to be able to conceive offspring using magic, starting with the hatching of Paetus in y2257, during the Age of War. The divisions between individual species continue to blur with time, and by the time of the Age of Spirits and beyond, the majority of creatures are mixed-species, many to the point that their individual species’ heritage is difficult to visually identify.
