She was the ruler of Zyadrin-Zeta during the time of the Birdcat Revolution, and was the first of the tribal leaders to be removed from power, being replaced by the elected Oska.

Appearance

King-Zeta is a True birdcat gryphon, meaning she is a hybrid of an eagle and a lion. Her fur is golden-brown, while her head and tail are light grey, almost white. Her mane, tail tip, and top layer of wing feathers are darker brown. Her eyes are amber. Her beak and front talons are yellow-gold. While she was leader of Zyadrin-Zeta, she wore a golden crown with red jewels, and similar bracelets around her front talons and her tail.

Personality

King is old-fashioned and inflexible. She is deeply devoted to Zyadrin and to its hierarchy system, as she has never known or been able to imagine anything different. She rarely smiles, and is not one for small talk or friendships. Her entire existence centers around simply doing her duty to her tribe as their leader. She is a realist, having no time for fantasy or imagination.

History

King was hatched on Summer 15, y1442. She had three siblings, one of which was also True, but as she had hatched first, she was chosen as the heir of Zyadrin-Zeta and given the name Prince. The other True hatchling was sent to a neighboring tribe that did not have an heir, and the two non-True hatchlings were raised in Zeta but with no connection to the royal lineage.

She became leader in y1458, after the death of her father, and was given the name King.

Relationships

Prince

King produced Prince simply because she needed an heir, not because she actually wanted to have children. As such, their relationship is perfunctory and curt. She rarely speaks to him unless she is giving him information about his future position. She is protective of him but only because of his role in the tribe, rather than any emotional attachment.
